Michael Visser
Power Quality Began 33 years ago to serve the market with information in order to enable our client base to make informed decisions about the solution to select that best matches the problem / risk. This has served us and the market place well,
Having founded ELPA in 2014 we continue to proudly promote the advancement of our members, our association, the lightning protection industry and the marketplace as the industry representative body in South Africa.
After joining Lightning Protection Institute (LPI) and certifying as a designer / inspector he recognized that there were aspects of the market place in the USA that were not adequately serviced. This provided an opening for a win/win growth opportunity for improved lightning safety. The expertise, experience and business model we bring to the market place provides a very cost effective solution for our clients.

Geoffrey Powell
In spite of being more academically inclined Geoffrey dived into the lightning protection industry as a student working on a lightning protection installation at a tyre factory during a holiday job. This and the sites that followed gave him a deep appreciation of the art of lightning protection. He loves to fly and is married to Angela.
Geoffrey’s continual academic progress has equipped him with a unique view of what the LP industry is, where it could be going moving forward in order to best serve the population, infrastructure, industries, mineral extraction and energy facilities.
Geoffrey is our source of the ultimate risk determination for any environment using the monte carlo technique to simulate a huge number of flashes terminating in the protection zone and determining what penetrated where. From there the pursuit of perfection continues to the environments use and life exposure, the environments purpose, data interpretation, problem definition and solution design.
